DAY 2
Enjoy the morning at your leisure. Relax by the pool or take a walk. In the
afternoon you will be dropped off at the local coffee shop next to the airport
for lunch before boarding your charter flight to Camp
Moremi.
The lodge is situated in the Moremi Game reserve on the fringes of the Okavango
Delta.
Shaded by giant ebony trees on the Xakanaxa
Lagoon, the lodge itself and the 11”Meru” style tents on teak
decks is absolutely stunning and gives the camp the status of being one of
Botswana’s finest safari lodges.
The reserve supports the most diverse habitat and animal populations in Botswana;
with possible sightings of wild
dog, cheetah,
lion and leopard
being highlights for the lucky few. Time at Camp Moremi is spent in open gamedrive
vehicles, looking out for the many animal and bird
species that make the reserve famous.

DAY 3
We are up at first light. After a quick
cup of coffee and cereal it’s onto our game drive vehicle and we are
off. Early mornings give us a chance to track the lion
that kept us awake the previous night. Have they killed or are they still
hungry and searching for today’s meal? Mornings are spectacular, heralding
a new day with new sightings and opportunities.
We return to the lodge at mid morning, ravenous and anxious to sit in the
boma discussing our sightings while we feast on a huge breakfast and lunch
combined. No matter what we have seen in the morning, our sumptuous breakfast
is another activity in itself.
We while away the lazy hours, resting or lying by the pool soaking up the
African sun.
The camp is peaceful and provides us with the opportunity to make up for those
hours we spent in our beds listening to the night sounds of Moremi. Tea is
normally around 3pm, and we are off game viewing shortly after. We may go
back to the kill we found this morning and see who and what is left, have
the vultures arrived and more to the point have the hyena
left them anything? If it’s quite we may have sundowners at Jesse’s
pools watching the setting sun or perhaps if we are lucky, follow the leopard
that is just beginning to resume his night’s hunting.

Location: Moremi

DAY 4
We leave camp in the early morning for our boat transfer to Xugana. The journey takes approximately 3 hrs as we wind our way through the crystal clear waterways of the Okavango. Along the way we see a wealth of wildlife. Shy red lechwes graze nervously on a floodplain and leap away as we pass. The bird life is plentiful. A fish eagle perches on a tree and other species sighted include kingfishers, cormorants and a large saddlebilled stork. Just before we leave the main channel, we stop to watch a 5-meter crocodile lying among the tall papyrus.
Xugana is situated on a stunning lagoon, which is widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the Okavango. The lodge accommodates 16 guests in reed and thatch chalets set under towering fig and ebony trees overlooking the lagoon.
After settling in and a short siesta at the pool
we head out for yet another exciting afternoon in the African bush.

DAY 1
You will
be met at Maun airport and transferred to Motsentsela Tree Lodge. The lodge
accommodates only 16 guests and is situated on a small game farm on the outskirts
of Maun, an ideal place to rest and get acclimatised after your long international
flight.
The lodge is the “nicest place to stay in Maun” superbly furnished
and comfortable with a reputation of serving the best food in town.
Guests can relax and catch up on rest, or take one of the three marked walking
trails in search of the numerous bird and animal species present on the farm.
Overnight: Motsentsela

DAY 5
Today offers plenty of opportunities for more spectacular game sightings. Time spent at Xugana will include walking on the many nearby islands in search of game, mokoro trips in the dug-out canoes on the open floodplains and exploring the many rivers and lagoons by power boat. For those interested in fishing, this is an excellent location to try and land the famed “tiger fish”

DAY 6
From Xugana
we take our 35-minute flight to Savuti. The Savute Safari Lodge overlooking
its own waterhole sleeps 22 guests in what is considered to be one of Botswana’s
finest lodges. Private viewing decks and superbly comfortable chalets ensure
that your stay here will not lack anything.
Savuti is dominated by the now dry Savuti marsh, a sweeping expanse of savanna
looked over by seven
rocky outcrops that guard the relic marsh and channel that was once its
lifeline. We explore the area in 4x4 gamedrive vehicles. The area is famed
for its bull elephant
and lion populations.
Game viewing is generally fantastic. For those guests lucky enough to experience
the zebra migration
it will be a sight to be remembered forever.
Overnight: Savute
Safari Lodge
Location: Savute
(Chobe National Park)
DAY 7
Again we
depart early and start to explore some of the numerous waterholes dotted around
the Savuti marsh. You will soon get to see why this area is famous for its
numerous bull elephants, which monopolize these waterholes. Your guide will
also take you around the seven rocky outcrops around the marsh and show you
the Bushman paintings,
which point to the ancient livelihoods of those who once used to live in the
area. Back on the marsh, chances are good to see the Savute lions,
supreme predators of the area. Spectacular zebra
migrations, which periodically take place on the marsh, are a sight to behold.
After a busy day’s game viewing, we return to our tented camp for dinner
and to reflect on the awesome splendor that is Savuti.
Overnight: Savute
Safari Lodge
Location: Savute
(Chobe National Park)
DAY 8
From Savuti
we take our 40-minute flight to Kasane where we are met by a representative
from Chobe Game Lodge for our short
transfer into the park.
The lodge is set on the banks of the Chobe
River overlooking the flood plains of the Caprivi
Strip in Namibia. Chobe
National Park is famous for its huge elephant
herds – the highest concentrations anywhere in the world. Our days are
spent gameviewing by vehicle and by boat on the Chobe River. The Chobe is
unique, affording us sights unparalleled in this day and age.
Overnight: Chobe
Game Lodge
Location: Chobe
National Park
DAY 9
Another day in elephant country. During the
harsh season the herds migrate south to north and congregate along the fertile
flood plains of perennial Chobe River. Other major species such as lion,
wild dog,
sable and roan
antelope are encountered in many areas of the reserve. You will have plentiful
opportunities to watch the game on a game drive or from the river barge on
the Chobe.
Overnight: Chobe
Game Lodge
Location: Chobe

DAY 10
After breakfast we leave for Kasane airport
for onward flight.
After our rewarding 10 days in Botswana, we leave enriched beyond imagination
and enlightened beyond our wildest dreams. Botswana and its northern parks
have given us
an experience to re-awaken our souls.
