Day 1: Upon arrival in Maun you will be met by our safari representative who will assist you onto your private charter flight to Mapula Lodge. The Lodge is in a remote area of the north eastern side of the Okavango Delta. The flight from Maun to Mapula Lodge takes a scenic route over the delta for about about 40 minutes.

Arrive at the superbly comfortable Lodge, which overlooks the stunning Mapula floodplains, which you can explore by foot (with armed guide), by mokoro (dug out canoe) and safari vehicle. Being a private concession area within the Okavango, Mapula also affords you the possibility of doing night game drives. Your guide and Mapula camp management will advise you as to which activities to do, depending on the time of day.

Accommodation: Luxury chalets with en suite bathrooms; shower, bath and flush toilet at Mapula Lodge. Luxury tents with en suite bath/shower and toilet at Motsentsela Tree Lodge.

Day 2: Starting early, you will continue your safari activities where you left off the day before. On your armed game walk you will get closer to nature than you ever thought possible. Your mokoro trip through the crystal clear, reed and water lily lined waterways of the Okavango makes for a supremely peaceful experience, perhaps giving you the chance of sighting and floating up the unusual sitatunga, an aquatic antelope species uniquely adapted to its watery environment. On your game drive, you will get close to Botswana’s wide variety of big game, including possible sightings of buffalo and elephant and other animal species that most typify this area. On your night drive, witness nocturnal species going about their nightly routines, a special thrill for any safari enthusiast.

Day 3: After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your charter flight to Maun. Upon arrival at Maun airport you will be taken on a cultural village tour. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and gives the traveler a chance to experience how the local people of Maun live.
You will be dropped off at the local coffee shop next to the airport for lunch before you are transferred to Motsentsela Tree Lodge. The lodge accommodates only 16 guests and is situated on a small game farm on the outskirts of Maun. The lodge is the “nicest place to stay in Maun” superbly furnished and comfortable with a reputation of serving the best food in town.
Guests can relax and catch up on rest, or take one of the three marked walking trails in search of the numerous bird and animal species present on the farm.
